Is it time for school to start yet?
Are you hearing "I am bored yet"? It is only natural to count the days until school starts so we want to help with some ideas to help pass the time and more importantly create some memories.
We are lucky to live where others visit and there is something for everyone and every budget. There is no excuse not to have a great summer.
Here are a few of our favorite places and things to do:
Ways to cool off:
Head to the beach:
There are so many beaches to choose from depending on what you want to experience on your beach day. Are you looking to play ball, go out on a hobie cat, play volleyball or even learn to kite surf? Then Delray Beach might be the perfect spot for you. You can also enjoy a bite to eat at popular places like Burger Fi, Sandwiches by the Sea, Boston's on the Beach and Caffe Luna Rosa.
Maybe you want to bring your 4 legged family member too. So Juno Beach would be a great beach to explore. This beach welcomes and encourages your well behaved pet.
Rapids Water Park
Rapids Water Park has something for all ages with 42 rides and waterslides. Or maybe floating in the lazy river is more your speed. If you love coming, a season pass is a great value.
Take in a movie. There are many kid friendly, affordable movies during the week at different theaters. There are tickets at some theaters for $1. Also you can buy savings cards like Movie Pass.
South Florida Science Center and Aquarium is a fun way to cool off and maybe learn something too. There are laser light shows, nights at the museum and lego area.
Time to be active:
Mini Golf sure has changed. It is not windmills anymore. There are two great options this summer depending on whether you want to go some where in the North or South County. If you would like to play in Jupiter, check out Lighthouse Cove Adventure Golf. The entire family will love it with 2 courses, the burger shop, novelty ice cream, a restaurant/bar and a play area. Is something south better for an outing? Check out the Putt'n Around Mini Golf. There is burgers, pizza and ice cream.
Paddleboarding is a great way to see nature, enjoy the sunshine and also enjoy some exercise too. There are many places to take a lesson or rent a board and explore on your own.
Wakodahatchee Wetlands is a great area to enjoy nature right in the middle of Delray Beach.
There are many activities to enjoy in your city or maybe in another town. Summer is a great time to get out and explore.
Many of the libraries and museums offer special events worth checking out.
These are a few of our favorite places. We'd love to hear some of yours too.
