Why We Moved to Palm Beach Gardens

I've been selling real estate in Palm Beach County since 1989. I've shown homes all over Palm Beach Gardens, helped families move here, and pointed out everything that makes it special. I thought I knew this city.

Then we moved here ourselves. And now I see it with a completely different set of eyes.

We Loved Delray. Then We Found Avenir.

For years, Delray Beach was home, and we loved calling it that. We still do. If you ask me about Delray, I'll always have something good to say about it. But something is just different now.

We'd been selling homes in Palm Beach Gardens for years, so the area was never new to us. What was new was waking up here every day. When we found our home in Avenir, one of the newer communities in Palm Beach Gardens, we made the move — and honestly, we've come alive.

There's something that happens when you go from visiting a place to living in it. You start noticing the little things. Morning walks. The faces you recognize. The restaurant you keep meaning to try. I always knew Palm Beach Gardens was a great place to live — I've been telling clients that for years. Living here, in a community that's still growing, has shown me a whole new side of it. It's relaxed but not slow. Upscale but not stuffy. Plenty to do, with room to breathe.

Exploring Our New Backyard

One of our favorite parts of the move has been date night. Instead of heading back to the same familiar spots, Steve and I have been exploring our own backyard — and we keep finding new favorites we somehow drove past for years.

A recent one: Coolinary over in Jupiter, an easy drive from Palm Beach Gardens. It made our short list on the first visit. Great food, a warm atmosphere, and service that made us feel like regulars right away. Here's what I posted that night:

"Date night with my honey… I love exploring where we now call home and finding new favorite places. I highly recommend Coolinary in Jupiter. Food, atmosphere and service were amazing. My date wasn't bad either."

That's really what this move has been about. It was never just the house — it's the life around it. And life here is easy in the best way. The beaches, PGA Boulevard, The Gardens Mall, golf, the parks, the waterfront, a great dinner out — it's all minutes from home. We don't spend weekends wondering what to do. We spend them picking between good options. Neighbors wave. People take pride in where they live. It feels settled and fresh at the same time.

A New Chapter, Not a Goodbye

This isn't a story about falling out of love with Delray. We still love it, and we always will. Palm Beach Gardens just turned out to be the next chapter we didn't know we were ready for.

Sometimes you don't realize how well a place fits until you're living it every day. That's what happened to us. New favorite restaurants. New routines. New neighbors. A real excitement about the community around us. Palm Beach Gardens didn't replace what we loved. It gave us something new to love.
