West Palm Beach GreenMarket 2026-2027: What Locals Should Know Before You Go
The West Palm Beach GreenMarket opens its 32nd season on Saturday, October 3, 2026, and runs every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. through May 22, 2027. It sets up on the Great Lawn at 100 N. Clematis Street on the downtown waterfront, with roughly 150 vendors and free parking in three city garages during market hours. The market is closed on February 6 and March 20, 2027, so plan around those two Saturdays.
Watch: our American Dream TV visit to the West Palm Beach GreenMarket.
I have been selling homes in Palm Beach County since 1989, and I bring up the GreenMarket with almost every buyer who is considering downtown West Palm Beach. Not because of the pastries (although they are good), but because a Saturday morning on Clematis Street shows you how this part of the county actually lives. Here is what you need to know for this season, and what the market can tell you if you are thinking about making a move.
When and where is the West Palm Beach GreenMarket in 2026-2027?
- Season: Saturday, October 3, 2026 through Saturday, May 22, 2027

Dates and details can change during the season, so check the City of West Palm Beach GreenMarket page before you head out.
Why is the GreenMarket such a big deal in Palm Beach County?
It started in 1995 with 13 vendors in a small parking lot and became Palm Beach County's first weekly public farmers market. Today it is one of the largest small-business gatherings in the region. In 2026, readers of USA TODAY 10Best voted it the No. 1 farmers market in the country, the fourth time it has earned the top spot (it also won in 2021, 2022 and 2023, and placed second in 2024 and 2025).
For locals, that recognition matters less than the consistency. Some vendors have been part of the market for more than 25 years, and several have grown from a Saturday tent into brick-and-mortar shops around the county. That is a good picture of the local economy here: small businesses with loyal regulars, and a downtown that supports them.
Where do you park for the West Palm Beach GreenMarket?
- Free during market hours: City Center Garage, Clematis Street Garage and Sapodilla City Garage
- $5 flat rate: Banyan and Evernia garages, which put you a little closer to the waterfront
- Road closures: Blocks of Clematis, Olive, Dixie and Flagler around the market close to cars on Saturday mornings, so give yourself a few extra minutes
- Other options: The City has offered a free bike valet near Clematis and Narcissus and low-cost West Palm Move transit
What is the best time to go?
Early. The first half hour is the calmest part of the day, and the City has set aside 8:30 to 9:00 a.m. as Quiet Shopping Time for anyone who prefers a lower-stimulus visit. By late morning the lawn fills up, especially from November through March when seasonal residents and visitors are in town. If you have a list, shop first, then grab coffee and enjoy the view of the Intracoastal.
What else can you do downtown on a GreenMarket Saturday?
This is the part I tell buyers to pay attention to. From the market you can walk the waterfront along Flagler Drive, head up Clematis Street for brunch or shopping, or continue to Rosemary Square (still called CityPlace by many locals) for more restaurants and stores. The Norton Museum of Art is a short drive south. In one morning, without getting back in the car much, you can see the full range of what downtown offers.
Watch for special events this season too. Organizers have announced live music, weekly workshops and the return of the Master Chef Showcase on November 14, 2026.
What does the GreenMarket tell you about living in or near downtown West Palm Beach?
When clients relocate from New York, Chicago or California, one of the first things they ask me is, "Where can I walk to things?" Downtown West Palm Beach is one of the few places in Palm Beach County where the answer is a real yes. The GreenMarket is a weekly example of that walkable, waterfront lifestyle.
If that sounds appealing, here is how I help buyers think about it:
- Downtown condos and residences along Flagler Drive: Walk to the market, the waterfront, dining and the Brightline station. Buyers here usually trade yard space for location and lock-and-leave convenience. Ask about association fees, reserves and building recertification status before you write an offer.
- Historic neighborhoods close to downtown: Areas like Flamingo Park, El Cid and Northwood offer character homes a short bike ride or drive from Clematis Street. Historic districts can come with design review rules for exterior changes, so know them before you plan a renovation.
- North county with a Saturday drive: Many of our clients choose Palm Beach Gardens or Jupiter for newer construction and more space, then drive downtown for the weekend. Depending on traffic, that is often a 20 to 30 minute trip.
The right fit depends on how you want your week to feel, not just your weekend. That is a conversation worth having before you start touring.
Is there a GreenMarket closer to Palm Beach Gardens?
Yes. The Gardens GreenMarket opens its season on Sunday, October 4, 2026, and runs Sundays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the City Hall Municipal Campus, 10500 N. Military Trail, Palm Beach Gardens. We live in Palm Beach Gardens, and having a Saturday market downtown and a Sunday market close to home is one of those small things that makes weekends here easy.
